Three World Religions

The world today is under the pressure of three most powerful and numerous religions – Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The heart of these religions is in Medina, Jerusalem, and Mecca accordingly. Situated close to each other, shrines were often the cause of the interreligious conflict. Usually, the ground for it was the not accepting others and their religious views. Looking back and tracing the history, the youngest religion is Islam. However, this is not an argument against the fact, that Islamic community is growing every year. Christianity implanted and stained with rivers of blood. Judaism with all hook and crook tried to preserve the integrity. This feature is common for Islam, but not for Christianity.

According to the Question of Strangers, Christianity’s position is to contribute to the needs of the saints, extend hospitality to strangers (Metzger & Murphy, 1994, Romans 12:13,). With this verse, all Christians support a statement, that they are willing and happy to accept everyone who is entering their life. On the other hand, if to keep in mind the verse 1 Corinthians 14:21 “By people of strange tongues and by the lips of foreigners I will speak to this people; yet even then they will not listen to me”, it becomes clearer, that despite the fact that all we are God’s children, we are different. Maybe on this ground Bible is translated into all possible languages. Moreover, every year around 500 million dollars are excreting for this Holy Book’s translation into rare languages.

While in Judaism in Exodus 12:43-45, 47-49 it is said, that “the Lord said to Moses and Aaron: This is the ordinance for the Passover: no foreigner shall eat of it, but any slave who has been purchased may eat of it after he has been circumcised; no found or hired servant may eat of it.” (Metzger & Murphy, 1994). Judaism promotes hospitality only under one condition: the person who wants to be a part of such congregation should follow the present rules and this, in turn, means to renounce the faith. To add, in Christianity faith means everything. “All of these died in faith without having received the promises, but from a distance they saw and greeted them. They confessed that they were strangers and foreigners on the earth, for people who speak in this way make it clear that they are seeking a homeland. If they had been thinking of the land that they had left behind, they would have had opportunity to return. But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; indeed, he has prepared a city for them” (Metzger & Murphy, 1994, Hebrews 11:13-16).

However, Christianity understands and accepts the idea of strangers and foreigners in opposite way, the Judaism and Islam do. For the analyzed above religion concept strangers and foreigners are on the Earth. Therefore, as the result, there is no difference for Christianity what is the color of the skin or what language you speak. As a human being, you proved you belong to this world by searching the homeland, better country, and you believe in one God. Christianity is rather the choice, than the obligation if to believe the Bible. The reality, though, was different, if to remind all things, which were done by Inquisition.

Christianity claims that the Earth is home for everyone. Whereas it is said in Quran, “The unbelievers, though they possessed all that is in the earth, and the like of it with it, to ransom themselves from the chastisement of the Day of Resurrection thereby, it would not be accepted of them; for them awaits a painful chastisement” (Metzger & Murphy, 1994, Chapter V, The Table). In addition, another quotation from Quran “O believers, take not Jews and Christians as friends; they are friends of each other. Whoso of you makes them his friends is one of them. God guides not the people of the evildoers.” (Metzger & Murphy, 1994, Chapter V, The Table). From mentioned verses above it is clear the Islamic congregation is closed one and often follows the radical views.
In conclusion, there is a need to distinguish religion and belief (in other words faith). Religion allows controlling nations, while belief causes changes.
